Elladan and Elrohir were the elder twin brothers of Arwen. They were so similar that few could tell them apart. That is why I followed the same colour scheme for both of them. I painted their hair dark brown and their clothes purple and blue. I think, the final result is more or less ok. They look like real twins! In the new LotR SBG system you buy them as a pair. One is the Captain of the warband, while the other is one of his twelve followers. To my eye, the one who holds the large Elven blade with both hands, has to be the Captain. The eagle-eye-visitors may have noticed that the other one holds a shorter blade with his right hand. I gave him this weapon because the original one was broken and the blade was missed. I don't complain, I bought them half price for that!
The Twins
By the way, I am happy to welcome MiniMike to our company.
That's it for today! Stay tuned!
Lovely work Sir.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Michael!
DeleteBack in the day when these sculpts were first released, we used to call them the "monkey twins" due to their long arms and large hands. Despite the unrealistic proportions, I've always been rather partial to the sculpts myself. I have not painted mine yet (they've been in the queue for almost eight years now) but after seeing your color scheme, I'm tempted to bring them out of retirement and get started. Thanks for the inspiration! It's nice to see a blog focused on LotR still active.
ReplyDeleteYou are right Blackwarden, their arms are even longer than their legs!!! Good luck with your twins! Thank you for your nice words, they encourage me to continue!
DeleteNice job and colour scheme.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Scott for being the most regular visitor of my humble blog!
DeleteBlackwarden: I remember some critique about the twins, it was especially strong at a particular forum :D
ReplyDeleteAnyways, congrats on the bargain mr Dram! I wasn't sure at first which blade that had originally been lost. Looking good!
I shall go tomorrow to find some bargains for myself, thanks for the idea! It's Arnor time...
Thank you, Mr Llama, and good luck with your bargains and your Knights of Arnor!
