Stockyard and Santiago de Compostela

A new terrain piece, a stockyard is ready. It is a versatile type of terrain as Sir Awdry says. Which means it is proper for a historical or any fantasy game as well!
I used balsa wood, MDF for the base, a piece of a white towel for the roof, little rocks and sand for the soil and pieces of my wife's straw broom!

Next stop of our trip was Santiago de Compostela. The city has its origin in the shrine of apostle Saint James the Great. This famous Christian pilgrimage started the Middle Ages.

Ruined farmhouse and the Castillo de San Felipe in Ferol

After all these scratch-built terrain pieces, here is a plastic kit for a change! The ruined farmhouse of Warlord Games is a very nice model and can be constructed in a variety of ways. Below you can see how I built it.

I put both buildings on MDF bases and used balsa wood for the floors and plaster, little rocks and sand for the ground.

Then I painted grey the stone walls, dark sand the walls and cork brown the woods.

To continue our trip lets see some photos of the "Castelo de San Felipe" outside the town of Ferol. They say that there was a huge chain linking this castillo to the"Castillo de San Martín" on the opposite side of the river, which blocked the entrance of an enemy fleet, usually the British one.
