Napoleonic Russian Generals and Hussars

These two Generals and the two Hussar Cavalry units are parts of my Napoleonic Russian Army for Valour & Fortitude, and not only. I also have the PM Uhlans and the Dragoons, which are waiting patiently in their boxes, as well as plenty of infantry soldiers!

I didn't like their metallic horses so I swapped them for Pike & Shotte horses of Warlord Games, which are bigger.

During the First Patriotic War of 1812, there were twelve Hussar regiments in the Russian Imperial Army. I chose green colour for the uniform of my Hussar cavalry units in order to match with my Infantry units. Two of these twelve Hussar regiments that wore green were the Olviopol Hussars and the Pavlograd Hussars. Both belonged to the 3rd Hussar Division. By the way, the city of Olviopol was named after the ancient Greek city of Olbia.

This is the 400th post of my blog, which I started back in 2011 when I was in Athens. After that I moved first in El Puerto de Santa Maria of Spain and then in Souda Bay of Crete. Now, I have to move again. I consider it a nice opportunity to post photos from new places, new food, etc. apart from my little soldiers!

That's it for today! Stay tuned for more!
