Shades and Hagia Sophia

   For those who asked me what I would do with the remaining two Myrmourn Banshees, since the first two I used as barrow-wights, this is my answer: conversion to Shades.

The two Shades

   I already had two original Shades miniatures, so I painted the new ones with the same colour scheme. I had one problem though! The bases of the Banshees are 30mm but those of the Shades are 40mm. Since I wanted to use the original bases because they were very nice, the only solution was to make a hole in the 40s and glue the 30s as you can see below: 

 

   After that I added some putty and sand to the rings around the 30mm bases.

Shades

   Shades are undead minions of Angmar. They are nice miniatures but unfortunately not in the lists of GW anymore. I had two Shades kept in the drawers for many years unpainted. It was time for them to emerge on the battlefield and show some action! 

The Shades

   To avoid the twin identical effect I placed one of them on a rock! I put a little orange flower on the other one's base to break the monotony of blue! Here they are:

More hedges

   I added some more hedges and a couple of trees as terrain pieces for our Bolt Action games. Some of the hedges are made of green cleaning sponges, which I covered with underbrush of various green shades from Woodland Scenics and glued them on mdf bases.

   I also had a plastic tree trunk, which I cut in two parts, glued them on balsa wooden pieces,  used some green stuff and added lichen in order to make two nice little trees.

   We used all the hedges and the trees on the battlefield during a game Germans vs British. Antonios, my friend, with his British was victorious!
