Warg Riders (The Red Pack)

Another warg pack is the Reds. Below you can see Gothmog and four Riders on the red-brown wargs. I gave Gothmog a shield to increase his D value. Not much of conversions this time, except for a shield which I made of greenstuff. The red colour of the wargs is GW Vermin Brown as the base colour,  washed with The Army Painter Strong Tone and highlighted with GW Vermin Brown again. The mane is highlighted with GW Bleached Bone.

Warg Riders (The Grey Pack)

The Warg Riders are ready at last! Below you can see the first of the four packs, the Greys. There is only one hero among them, a Taskmaster. This Taskmaster is Golfimbul, from whom I removed the mace. I gave him a whip made of greenstuff and a sword in a scabbard (an orc quiver), as well. I used the miniature of Golfimbul on foot as a conversion of a banner-bearer for my Dunlending Warriors Army. One of the Warg Riders is a previous archer, from whom I removed the hand with the bow and gave the hand of an Uruk-hai of the siege troops. As you can see, every one has a shield, the four of them are original GW shields, while the fifth is an Esci 1/72 WWII traffic sign to which I gave a "metallic" edge of greenstuff. The grey colour is Vallejo Black Grey as the base colour, washed with The Army Painter Dark Tone and highlighted with Vallejo Green Grey. The mane is highlighted with GW Bleached Bone. So, here they are:

Khandish Charioteers WIP

A new project starts today, the Khandish Charioteers. I will make three chariots in total. One for the Khandish King and two for his personal guards.
The chariots' poles and axles will be made of balsa wood, while the frame will be made of pieces of a 35mm film plastic tube. Wheels belong to Napoleonic 1/72 plastic cannons. The King and the Mongol horses are TAG miniatures. The Variags and the bases are GW. Below you can see all the parts of the project:

Of course I am not the first who tries to make such chariots. You can find them in blogosphere, Mister Llama, for instance, has some nice ones.
So, stay tuned for more. Warg riders are almost ready!
By the way, I would like to welcome Bob to our company.

Warg Riders WIP (Part 4)

Warg Riders are not finished yet, but I think I am on a good way! As a wash, this time I used the strong tone of the army painter and not the usual devlan mud. Below you can see some photos of them and the Orc captain "The Widowmaker" WIP.

That's it for today. Stay tuned for more!

Warg Riders WIP (Part 3)

I do not manage to keep a nice rythm of progress with the Warg Riders. Anyway, I hope to finish them till the end of the month. Below you can see some photos of Golfimbul and his warg, Gothmog and the four different colour schemes of the wargs. I gave Golfimbul a celtic shield to distinquish him from the rest orc warriors.

Shagrat's boys! (Orcs)

Shagrat, War Leader is one of the toughest evil warriors in Middle-earth. He is the captain in command of the Uruks at the tower of Cirith Ungol, a watchtower that guarded a treacherous pass into Mordor. His three A and high value of D make him an unstoppable butcher, a fear for every warrior who will stand in front of him. Furthermore, his special rule "Shield of Cirith Ungol" gives him a tremendous advantage against his opponents.
Below you can see some Orc warriors that I painted three or maybe four years ago. Orc warriors as miniatures are very nice for conversions. You can do whatever you want with them. You can change heads, weapons, torsos, etc. in order to make unique fighters. It is easy to do such things with Orcs.

Orcs with spears are an easy target for enemy archers. For this reason I gave some of them shields to increase their D value.
