This is the last post of 2024, but with the new Bolt Action book "Armies of Germany" around the corner, it is a post of my first Bolt Action German unit, the Kriegsmarine.

Kriegsmarine and Leipzig
The Kriegsmarine unit
The Kriegsmarine was involved in the first battle of WW2 and in its last. They fought from the battle of Westerplatte in September 1939 during the invasion in Poland till the last days of the war in the battle of Berlin in May 1945.
The LMG and the last three sailors.
Leipzig is a very beautiful city of Saxony in Germany. One of the monuments of the city is the "Monument to the Battle of the Nations", which commemorates the defeat of Napoleon's French Army by the coalition armies of Russia, Prussia, Austria and Sweden in October 1813.

Napoleonic Russian Cannons
A year ago I played with some friends my first Valour & Fortitude game. I decided then to built a Russian Army since British, Austrians, Prussians and of course French were already taken by my friends. I bought models of infantry, cavalry, a few Officers and three cannons.
As of now, I haven't posted any of them. I start with the cannons.
My three Russian cannons. One 12pdr and two 6pdr.
First I painted the miniatures and then glued them on the bases.
The 12pdr cannon. A Perry Miniatures model.
The first 6pdr cannon. A Warlord Games model.
The second 6pdr cannon. Also a Warlord Games model.
Me and my assistant taking the photos
The assistant lost interest soon.
Speaking of Russians lets see some of their foods, which we had the other day.
Khinkali (a Georgian dish, pasta
stuffed with meat and spices)
Chicken
Pickled cucumbers and carrots
Pirog (a cheese pie)
Pancakes
Borscht
Shashlik (shish kebab)
Pork cubes of shashlik

Cows, dead & alive
The Farmyard Animal box of Warlord Games includes four plastic models of cows. I had a couple of metal models of dead cows, which I added to these four and my cattle herd for the battlefield was ready!
The herd
Though I really like the Holstein breed with their distinctive black and white markings, I chose to follow a monochromatic brown color scheme, which was far easier!
The herd took part as terrain pieces during one of our games, where an Italian Blackshirts force fought against the Red Army somewhere on the Eastern Front.

Unfortunately for the Red Army, Antonios' Blackshirts were victorious!
